Lifeline
Stories produces high quality memoir and family history books
in hard cover and soft cover formats. Read on and you’ll
see that you don’t have to do it all. We’re here to
help.
Beginning with your writing:
There are many reasons to consider the services of a personal
historian in creating a memoir or family history book. Perhaps
you have written a collection of stories but have not found
the time to organize them into a manuscript; or you have written
a manuscript and require technical assistance to produce the
high quality book you desire. We make it easier for you to
reach your goal.
Our services include editing and organizing manuscripts. We assist
in the selection of photos and documents you might wish to include,
and discuss their placement. Once the manuscript goes through
a final edit, a graphic artist will design the format for your
book. In all cases, decisions about the final content and appearance
are yours.
Creating a manuscript:
Perhaps you have longed to find time to write your memoir but
haven’t known where to start. We can work with you to
create a series of questions to use in conducting taped interviews
with you. Each interview will be transcribed and turned into
a narrative for your review and correction, then edited. The
number of interviews required depends on the length of manuscript
you desire. As with all book production, we work with you
in selecting photos and documents to include and consult with
you on the design of the final product
